Lucio stars in new play in NYC
Till Death Opens in NYC
The Grace Theatre Workshop, Inc. presents the world premiere of the dark comedy "Till Death" by Lucio Fernandez. The play opens on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at 8:00 PM at The Producers' Club Theatre, 358 West 44th Street in NYC for a limited run. There will be a VIP Reception following the opening night performance on Wednesday, November 20th. The play is directed by Peter A. Dubo and stars Ruth Kavanagh and Lucio Fernandez.
"Have you ever been afraid of your wife or girlfriend?" Ruth Kavanagh plays the "perfect woman" wishing to help Lucio Fernandez' desperately delusional and suicidal "Tony". What the character of "Tony" discovers is that "Some commitments must be kept." "Tony" finds himself lost in the illusions of his mind, constantly tormented by nightmares; nightmares driven by women from his past. In a constant search for peace... "peace of mind", he comes to believe that death is his only answer... the only way out of his predicament. But is that what he really wants? In his quest for peace, he finds that a commitment is a commitment, and some cannot be broken. In fact, some commitments are more than one can bare.

"Cuba: Punto X" Opens in NYC
MeLu Communications Group and Latin Jazz USA Productions in association with OLLANTAY Center for the Arts proudly present the world premiere of the play "Cuba: Punto X" written and directed by renowned theatre and film professional Ivan Acosta. The play opens on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at 8:00 PM at The Producers' Club located at 358 West 44th Street (corner of 9th Avenue) in NYC for a two-week engagement. There will be a reception following the opening night performance where those in attendance will have the opportunity to mingle with the show's stars and director.
About the Play
The play takes place in 2020. And the dictatorship of the Castro brothers is over. According to expert analysts, through the years the military communist regime in Cuba, created several secret spots that were extracted from the geography of the Cuban archipelago. One such site is the point X, somewhere in the Sierra Maestra Mountains. At that point X, is in hiding, the former commander Eulalio and his assistant and lover, Yari. Both have spent several years in hiding, waiting to be rescued and smuggled out of the island. Commander Eulalio was notable for its abuses and violation of human rights of many citizens. Dozens of researchers supported by the International Commission for Human Rights, relentlessly pursue the fugitives, who are former members of the military apparatus, which distinguished themselves by their abuses and violations. CUBA: POINT X, through its three characters, "Commander Eulalio", semi kidnapped girlfriend, "Yari", and the researcher, "Adrian", poses in fiction, a look of a future hypothetical situation in Cuba.
The play stars Alfonso Rey, Dalia Davi, and Lucio Fernandez. It is written and directed by Ivan Acosta; production design by Jesus Rivera; sound design by Frank Rodriguez; choreographed by Alberto Morgan; and produced by Melu Communications Group and Latin Jazz USA Productions in association with OLLANTAY Center for the Arts. It is presented entirely in Spanish with English subtitles.
